"Computers and video technology can make facsimiles of original works such as paintings and historical documents available to

Issue-2
"Computers and video technology can make facsimiles of original works such as paintings and historical documents available to everyone. The great advantage of this new technology is that it will enable anyone—not just scholars—to conduct in-depth research without having access to the original works."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The above stated topic seems to be true in the first glance. There are many merits and demerits for the computer and video technology used in doing research. These resources used in the efficient manner would provide a better outcome. However this may not support anyone- non scholars to conduct research as they require great camaraderie of fellow researchers and dedication.
On one hand we have the greatest computer technology, "the internet". This is possible of delivering any data around the world in seconds. Many books are made into e-books and can be easily searched for and could be used. Many great libraries like the British council libraries care connected to the servers so that people are able to browse through the expensive books and materials. They provide the exact copy of the material as authored. This gives immense pleasure for researchers who are not able to get them to their hands. Internet also bridges the major factor, "distance". For example a person sitting in his rustic surroundings when connected to the internet is able to view the most advanced machinery in this world. This gives one a great deal of freedom to research. These technologies have provided advanced "search engines" which connects the user to his closest possible answer.
Video technology also plays a cardinal part in conjunction with the internet; it can make telecast a live surgery to a group of students sitting in a corner of this world. Most of the historical documents are being preserved so they are not easily available for everyone to make use. This type of technology not only provides a facsimiles but also digital versions of the document. These digital version are easy to preserve and easy to refer.
On the other hand, these technologies also lack in some areas. The internet is a vast pool. Though it contains a huge authenticated data, there also documents that are not verified. The readers are not able to judge between them as all the work seems to be the same. There also lies another disadvantage, "paraglyism". Copying someone’s work and claiming it to be theirs. This makes many article publishers think twice before submitting to the internet. Last week a Cambridge student who was the youngest author to be published was sued for copying a work done by some other author. This could have been done only by using this thechnologies. The computer and the video technology needs some kind of basic understanding of the operating methods of the system. Thus this cant reach a plebian, but only a man who is at least little educated.
The greatest concern about the facsimile of the historical and rare documents is that many times they violate the copyright acts. This must be considered very serious as this is a sensitive issue. Taking this issue into account, many revealing research materials have to handle with care. As the authors are afraid that there would be violations of their research work, sometimes they don’t want to publish them. This proves that students researching with that particular researcher are only able to get those materials. So this emphasizes that not all can do research with these technology in hand.
The computer and video technology provides ample opportunities for many not just scholars to research under the sun. But what a research work needs is true hands-on research and not a survey from the facsimiles, though they serve as references. The computer and video technology may rise the platform of a publican to a well read man but not a erudite to a great researcher as the later requires great adept knowledge, experimental verifications and camaraderie with fellow researchers which these facsimiles can’t provide.

The Argument

The argument:

According to a poll of 200 charitable organizations, donations of money to nonprofit groups increased by nearly 25 percent last year, though not all charities gained equally. Religious groups gained the most (30 percent), followed by environmental groups (23 percent), whereas educational institutions experienced only a very small increase in donations (3 percent). This poll indicates that more people are willing and able to give money to charities but that funding for education is not a priority for most people. These differences in donation rates must result from the perception that educational institutions are less in need of donations than are other kinds of institutions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The argument stating the claim that educational institutions rquires less funding compared to other fields seems to betrue in the first glance, however a through revision into this argument raises strong reasons that opposes it. A detailed analysis would prove to disapprove this claim as it lacks many evidences and also the facts given are not very strong for the judgement.
The years in which this study was undertaken should be checkd for its ecnomic situations, there may have been a sudden boom in the economy last year compared to the previous. This factor gives us the reason for the sudden increase in the donations to the nonprofit organizations. Another fact is that only two-hundred organizations were taken into account for this analysis. These two-hunderd organizations should have all the different groups namely religious, environmental and educational in the right propotion. This argument never talks about this propotion. Thus it loses its strength here. Also the fact that both public and private organizations must have ben taken into account, this is also not followed as seen from the argument.
The people who donate to these organization are not checked as to whether they are educated or not. Only a educated person would know about its glory and would feel that it too needs funding to develop it. Many myths about the environmental degradation are been broadcasted in many mediums, so people are more aware of the environmental factors. The public also felt that saving the environment is the cardinal act than anything as they pose a deadly threat if not done. This would have been the reason for the public to donate liberally towards environmental groups.
The satistics stating the fact that religious groups gained the most has can be weakened by stating that most of the general public are god fearing adn they feel that donation to god would make them prosper in thir life. This notion is the only reson for the increase in the charity in these groups. They may also call it thanks giving to god for his clemency towards them. This weakens the argument by proving that general public had a proclivity towards religion than anything.
The argument is further weakend by the fact that many educational groups have stopped their research just due to dearth of funds. In case of nanotechonlogical rsearch, which need huge sums of money many research centers are in standstill as they dont have enough sums to do research in the domain. On the other hand many private agencies and the stae fund these educational institutions and they dont call it charity.
Indeed educatiopnal institutions are the ones that require the most funding to prosper into new dimensions. The crituque clearly points out the flaws assumed by this argument and conveys strong claims that educational institutions require
more funding than any other groups mentioned.

Rayaru Comes Alive!!!!!

This happened on 16th April 2006. me and my family usually visit mantralayam regularly, but after a long gap of 6 years we visited it on 15th of April 2006. This gap was due to important schooling years and college days for me and my younger sister.

DAY 15th April 2006:

Mumbai mail reached mantralayam rd by 11:45 and we rushed for a van trip to mantrayalam. Immediately we booked a room as told by the van driver. My dad was little insouciant about the amenities provided in the room and was lured by the air conditioning there. But i was vehement to stay in a devastanam cottege. As usual i had some wangles with my dad, but could not succeed as his claims that a room without air conditioning in the summer would be very hard to cope up with. Though i was not satisfied i agreed with him.

It was 12:30pm and got ready after a not so refreshing bath. We reached the temple by 12:45. It was time in the temple to wind up, so we rushed to the darshan. We had a very great darshan indeed. Then we were directed to the hastodaka. There the halls though capacious, were full as it was the summer vacation and there were so many people. But to our astonishment we were welcomed by a old man! he took each one of us to a different empty places here and there. We all had the most delicious lunch ever! I mean it. It was so balmy that i am addicted to the lunch provided there.

That night at 1:30am to my astonishment the air conditioner in our room started to give out balls of fire! i was sleeping next to it! i somehow with the help of rayaru escaped for those electric spelters! Then my vehemency rose to a higher level. That was the first time we had stayed in a place other than the devastanam cottege, and this time it was deadly! My stubbornness in changing the room felt some offences from my dad, but at last i managed to tackle him and started in that lull hours, intrepid in search of a room!
Time past, it was 2:00 am and we knocked the srinivasa lodge for availability, bathos he nodded no even for the royal suite! But a small lad, called himself as the janitor of the devestanam room approached us and told us one of the rooms of a temple priest was free, in spite of the fact that all the 100 room were booked. It was a boon to us, he charged the same as the devastanam does. I got a sigh of relief and a strong claim that my dad cant put me down even at 3 am in the night! Where did this guy come from and how did the temple priest leave the room free? These question can only be answered as "Rayaru sent him and Rayaru wanted us to stay in his home and not elsewhere! My family moved in that wee hours to that room amidst the lull and was pretty safe there!

MORNING OF 16TH APRIL 2006: THE REAL MIRACLE

We visited the Tunga banks for "prokshnam" It was Tamil new years day for us and we missed all the holy deed we used to
do if we were in our home.

As it was hot and dry summer in mantrayalam the Tunga had abated to its cardinal areas. we had to go through small knolls to get to reach the water. In the way a old man asked us in Tamil if he could help us do all the good rituals that we did on
Tamil new years day. my mom was persistent for that and he helped us doing all the prokshanam and the Ganga snayanam. We were totally amazed as he told that he lived in the same street as ours in Chennai 25 years back! He gave some nuggets which were thought provoking! they are:

lord yararu has brought him from Chennai and made mantrayalam his home town. He also informes us that lord rayaru full of clemency that he gives not only whatever we ask him but also till we feel we are satisfied! He told us that he was experiencing that act of rayaru!

All was over and he wished us with great words in Sanskrit and blessed our family too! at last we started moving to towards the temple and our family and that man got scattered in the path! But to the amusement he appeared once again to us and told us that he was the same old man who helped us find a place for lunch yesterday though we came at the twelfth hour!
we felt our deep gratitude to him. At last he told that he works in the Mutt kitchen his name was the same name as that of lord Krishna that rayaru worships! Then disappeared again!!

Then we went to the prayer and to the luncheon, we enquired about that old man there and asked for him, i was enchanted to know that nobody like that person existed there! Then how did he help us to get lunch?? Then who is he?? Why did he come and wish us? Why did he tell that his name was the same name as that of the lord Krishna?? why did he disappear?why did he tell all myths about Rayaru's benevolence? why and how did he speak Tamil? How did he make four places in a jam packed lunch hall at the last few seconds before the lunch?

Me and my Mom deeply feel that it was Rayaru who came and helped us! though some may go against this, we firmly believe that it was Lord Raghavendra who was with us! Many more this are happening in my life as miracles like passing an exam where i wrote only for two pages and more!I feel my whole life is shaping out just as miracles happen every day in my life! I am not able to analytically reason out anything that's happening to me. So i call them miracles and owe every deed to My God RAGHVENDRA I will be writing about these in my next write up

The following appeared in a recommendation from the planning department of the city of Transopolis.

P.S : This was written in a flippant way, so this dosent show my real analytics

The following appeared in a recommendation from the planning department of the city of Transopolis.
"Ten years ago, as part of a comprehensive urban renewal program, the city of Transopolis adapted for industrial use a large area of severely substandard housing near the freeway. Subsequently, several factories were constructed there, crime rates in the area declined, and property tax revenues for the entire city increased. To further revitalize the city, we should now take similar action in a declining residential area on the opposite side of the city. Since some houses and apartments in existing nearby neighborhoods are currently unoccupied, alternate housing for those displaced by this action will be readily available."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Response:

This argument regarding the planning of city of transpolis seems to convincing at a primary glance, however the revitalization scheme which is under planning, the same old plan sketched ten years ago has many strong evidences that it may not be suited at this time. Further improvement of the claims would help in re-vitalizing the city.

The argument says that several factories were constructed there. This sounds great for the revenue department as the taxes even improved. But the claim was ten years old, the situation is changing rapidly. This project sounds a little weak here. The factor of industrial pollution was never taken into account. The city vitalization sans taking care of the environment is of major concern. The overall development, environmental as well as industrial by the planning department is the need at this juncture.

The statement that security system improvement by induatrilization has many defects. The security system ten years ago was different. Now new security devices have emerged, the technology has improved in such a way that the best possible security a man can get is avilable in the shops. As the freeway is full of industries the population of the city increaseas in the suburbs and crime rates would continue to high there. The reduction of crime rates totally depends on the police department and not on this factor. This gives way for limited vitalization of the city. The argument claims that the city taxes would improve further, but there is no evidence that the how the taxes would improve in a very rapid rate.

The fact that the department of planning has taken interest on the opposite side of the city lacks strength. The information that there are many unoccupied houses in the existence neighborhood gives some relief, but there is no authentication that all the people stranded by this move would be able to get a decent place there. They are living in the free atmosphere on the opposite side of the city. Surely this plan would arise some altercation from them, though the state can convince them their actions would be disturbing.

This argument demonstrates a fairly good deal in further improving the city, but the department's plan is not supported by strong claims. Though some of their claims are strong enough for one to agree, many problems are unaddressed. If the department takes care of all the other crietrions then that plan could sound convincing.

My mail to a junior!

P.S this mail was written to a guy in mechanical dept, make nessessary changes to suit you.
ignore errors and personal comments.

To: srivatsan varadarajan
though this mail is a bit long read it fully to know what's what......and.....stuff...

mmm....jillu....good speed ya....nice to see that...test mail

hey u r all lucky to get these stuff in a single pdf...(i am gonna gift it to my dept for use of future students)

it was 2004 mid ...when i used to go through all the pages of the universities line by line and...i am still doing that....man!!..these is soo much of info in their webpage.....and i tell u only 30% of the real things happening there is hosted in these web pages....so think over....whats all happening in every research laborotory......univs...every grad student's life...!!

i used to take the maid id's of the ppl in each and every ISA(u must know this!)...and mail them regarding the different possibilities of things happening there....

one think i find is that they are all extremely helpful...but some times even a bit lazy to mail u back soon....but u will get a mail...in a day or 2....

i also found the technique of asking incessant questions in a well articulated manned....which needs planning....and coordination of the data u send them....and that u receive and conceive...beware here...this is the best place to get the word from their mouth...abt the things happening there...

remember u just cant finalize abt a program/univ with web page info...so gotta mail students there...know what difficulties they face...how is the aid scene....and what is the possibility to get an assistantship as soon as possible....and things like that....
it's not a joke...but worth thousands of dollars of our parents money which we can save!!...if we get some aid...RA's...TA's..GA's..(RA-research assistantship,TA-teaching ass,GA-graduate ass)

also we need to know about the research going there....there is no point in going to an univ which doesn't have courses/research of our interest....
and remember that America is a nation with latitude...they are further latitudinarians when it comes to shifting our branch of studies.....but exploiting that ruins u....and not them...!!so choose an univ not becoz of ranking...any liking....(may be u r friend might be there)...but only with your interests.......

i have taken so much pains in building up this pdf containing all info.....i haven't completed it yet...but got some real important info into a consolidated block......i am sending u this consolidated version....

i am doing this work out of my research experience of abt 2 yrs about the univs, people and culture and my experience from the start where u get a thought of writing ther GRE to the admission and visa process and post arrival in America....
as i have some more last part (visa and trip) to be experienced....i will update those info when i am done that...u can always get the copy of that whole book by this January 2007....mail me for that or get it from my web page
www.freewebs.com/raghavendran

i will be hosting it there....for all my juniors in college and life...!!

and remember.....in undergoing this process u may find many tight corners ...never mind ask me....and never ever go to any of the consultants who do all this work for u...they do this work for u and also cheat u.....without u r notice...!!!also the money u put there is a absolute waste!!!...even then if u wanna go come to me(hopefully would be in the US)...i'll do ir free of cost...(i have done for 3 ppl this year free of cost and they all have 3 admits in hand now!!)

and ...my agony i din have any senior who advised me regarding this process of life "B.E in India to M.S in USA"....if i have had one i would have done some ground work in my younger years....and would have had the opportunity to get admits to even better/top ranked ones than i have got now!!

hey buddy,
reading through would have made u ready for this race to USA....mind it...one big advise "don't get satisfied by the silly campus placement which pay u 20k a month"....if u r then u r dumped...that's it....as the crowd is increasing every year to America......not only that we guys(software professionals)...just work for an healthcare, banking, insurance, payroll process and that too no developing side but just processing side of it....it's too far for us to compare what we studied and what we will be doing and the future of this kind of outsourced software jobs.....
see India seems to cheaper for the Americans today...remember china,Korea and Philippines are gearing up eat India...in terms of economy and standards...so there is future for software but not to all the muffs and dumbes who got offers through campus placements......(i know real muff persons have got a job!!)
one advice u r academics with a decent gre and toefl can fetch u a decent univ...don worry abt that move for this placement here(even u r field)....coz i have seen......many....situations where a guy with financial restraints some how makes up a MS in USA and mints money there after 2 yrs....but his brainy classmates who got this campus placements are still working for a infy/tcs...etc with a 25k per month.....
i am not against that campus placement but i feel there is a greener pasture in he USA if u r research oriented....
and if u want to make money...settle in life.....get married at 25~26 and doesn't have that interest to research in lab....they better go for some kinda placement....even then...after working for 4 yrs u will find that you are paid only 30k a month which is hardly enough to buy make up kits to our dear wives!!
and if its gonna be a mech job...then even worse....the salary after 4 yes would be just 20k at the max!!

and the password for the document is "raghav" (the "" not included)share this with u friends too!!as much as possible!
keep in touch for more info as i have only told(in the sidewalk)/mail is just 10% of what is more ahead!!

so decide go through my web page and the pdf....and tell how u felt after reading this mail pdf.........etc....
have a nice day

"Spending time alone makes one a better companion to others."

The character of an individual greatly depends upon the surroundings in which he is, spending time in different ways would greatly affect a person in having a companionship with others. The fact that people spending time alone has its own advantages and disadvantages in respect to their behavior with others. A person who spends quality time would enjoy a better camaraderie than others.

On one hand a person who spends time alone would get an opportunity to get to understand about him to the maximum posible extent. He gets time to make a sefl analysis about his behavior and character. Indeed this self analysis would make a man understand about his place in the community and how well to move about so that he serves a better compnionship to others. This lone time spender becomes a self sustained person, he does all his work by himself and this creates a sense of fullfilment to him. He starts to tackle any conundrum in his own way and this woud help him to a great extent if he ever finds himself in a debacle. On the other hand this person may become aloof and even sometimes get gloomy if he hits a setback in life. This would mostly result in a situation where he is lured by the narcotics. In a study many lone of lone time spenders end their life themself. This surely will not make a person who is prefered when it comes to companionships.

Spending time together with other people in surroundings is a good way to get better companionship. But there lies a tight corner where one must be careful in choosing the right company. If the company is going to be a ill one then this person is at risk of loosing good character. This makes it difficult for him to move about witha some group of people having a good attitude and character. He may sometimes be called the rotten apple or the black sheep of a healthy lot. This surely is not going to help him make a person having a affable character. As the proverb goes "The greatest sin a parent can do to their child is to let him sibilingless" , spending time together with someone gives a edge in socialising with others.

It is seen that one of my class mate who spends time alone was really finding time to do really well in his studies. He had that abundant time to do all the exceptional things which helped him to secure a good rank, but when it came to relationships he was a failure. He found it very hard to cope up with others in a group when he was doing a laborotary class. Some of our class mates liked him and some did not. This proves that he was not having the ability to have give good companionship to others. But there are also people who spend time in groups and also find it difficult to give a good companionship to all the peple he steps by.

The fact of spending time alone or in groups is not the factor which makes one a better companion, but the fact how the time is spent really matters. A lone time spender may have the best possible companionship with others as he in need of one, but also a person always spending time in groups can be the most deadly companion to others. Thus the qulality of time spent,
the congenital character of the person and the response by his peers are the factors which makes a man a better companion
